Basket

Plain open twined utility basket with spruce root warp and weft. Has floating warp overlay, a tiny vertical zigzag. One row of crossed warps just below rim. Red and green bands may be commercial dyes, however, the red color is from a red trade blanket which was boiled down, materials added to collect ink pigmentation. Blue is India ink. Probably Coos bay, south slough, southern Coos Bay area.
