Basket

Plain twining, Z-twist, rightward work direction, outside work face. Tule and some cattail cordage warp, S-twist. Weft is all cattail or tule basal leaves. Dark is older and younger tule roots. Start is two wrapped bundles with a cross wrap. Three rows of three-strand twining at the turn-up. Full turn (wrapped) twining in design (solid diagonal line and triangles). Rim is trac border done with warps, over two and to the inside.
Purchased from Mrs. Jackson in 1947 at the former Klamath Reservation. She is shown weaving a basket in a 1947 film archived at MNCH.
