Description: 

Plain twining, Z-twist, rightward work direction, outside work face. Tule cordage warp, S-twist. Light color weft is cattail or tule basal leaves, gray on base is mud- or ink-dyed cattail, dark brown is tule root. Start is a single wrapped bundle. European style turn-up, warps fold over one adjacent warp and up. Some full turn (wrapped) twining in design areas. Motif is feet or leg design with millipede-type band. Rim is a trac border, over two warps and down to the inside. Purchased from Mrs. Jackson in 1947 at the former Klamath Reservation. She is shown weaving a basket in a 1947 film archived at MNCH.
