Plain twining, Z-twist, rightward work direction, outside work face, tule cordage warp. Base weft is tule, side weft is cattail and some bands of raffia. Wrapped twined overlay in mud-dyed tule bases, base design in tule root. Cotton thread repair at rim. Inside painted number "BAS228." Original tag attached to basket reads "Made by wife of old Chief, Chief Henry or Tom Blow." Henry Blow was a signator of the Klamath Treaty of 1864 and an important figure in early reservation times. He appears in a group picture of leaders in Ted Stern's book "The Klamath Tribes."
